Press Release - 03-03-2010

AIKMS has strongly condemned Kaushambi administration for mischievously lodging false FIRs against the leaders of the organisation and the common workers struggling against operation of mining machines and loaders by the sand mafia. The lie in the police story is nailed by the fact that they did not allow any press person to be present during the entire incident.
FIR of Nanda ka Pura dated March 1 is entirely false and there was no clash over Holi celebrations and no one was injured in any attack by sand workers. Utilising the Holi festival holiday period, some agents of the sand mafia and BSP minister Heera Lal Pasi, Jawahar Pasi, Kamlesh Nishad and Kanhai tried to raise a dispute after consuming alcohol. This was avoided. Thereafter he returned with some anti social elements at around 6 pm and targeted the sand workers houses. The workers stood up to resist, but were forced to retreat as a heavy police force arrived in their support. The police and these goondas ran riot over the villages Nanda ka Pura and Kewat ka Pura, damaged houses, burnt the houses of Murli Nishad of Kewat pura and of Rajendra Nishad and Ramasrey Nishad of Nanda pura as well as looted shops in the two villages including that of Bhaiyan Nishad in Kewat pura. They chased and beat up women and children and broke several boats. They arrested Budhai, Ganesh, Heeralal and Pargan Nishad.
Thereafter the goons left and the police established a PAC camp in the village. They registered a case under section 307 against 90 sand workers falsely claiming clash between pasi workers and nishad workers and some injuries to some pasi workers. Poor working people have suffered heavy losses of their livelihood and humble savings in both the villages and the BSP govt and police is responsible for that.
Police is deliberately trying to create caste conflict and trying to pitt communities against each other while having full political patronage of Kapilmuni Karwaria, Indrajeet Saroj and Girish Pasi, all important BSP functionaries.
In Ujihini incident also the BSP govt has falsely charged AIKMS workers under section 307 even though only our workers have suffered bullet injuries. The police has itself indulged in violence against the poor people, arresting 6 more activists over last two days and beating them up black and blue. 11 women including 4 girls have already been arrested.
AIKMS has vowed to continue their agitation for preventing mafia operations and use of machines in the Jamuna river and for distribution of river bed land to the poor people for agriculture. AIKMS campaign to expose the BSP is continuing with vigour and people are seething with anger against the anti poor people stance of the BSP govt.
